A brief history of the Internet address: From killer domains to URL shorteners

JUST LIKE A TWITTER USER nicely puts it, here is the brief history of the Internet addresses: Round 1: “cool” domains, site forwarding (.nu, jump.to); Round 2: domain hacks (del.icio.us); and Round 3: URL shorteners (tinyURL, bit.ly, goo.gl, fb.me).

Bit.ly recently announced bit.ly Pro for publishers and bloggers that will be able to use their own short domain names; Google introduced goo.gl as a feature for Google Toolbar and Feedburner; and Facebook released fb.me for its mobile interface.

How hard to be the futurists

Futurists, or futurologists, are those who speculate about the future. I  discovered some famous quotes on computer evolution; it shows that how difficult to imagine about the future of computer.
