Nokia Lumia 1520 review: The best Windows Phone of this year

Is the Nokia Lumia 1520 the best Windows phone of 2013? Yes. In a lot of different ways. Here are some specific things you should know about the newest Nokia Lumia. If you’re constantly on your smartphone, you’re going to love all the features available.

• Bigger – One of the first things you’re going to notice is that the new Lumia 1520 is a bit bigger than previous versions. This enables more screen space which is a very good thing. The good news is that it’s still very light when compared to other older phones.

• Faster – Another improvement for the new Nokia 1520 is the speed of the operating system. Based on the Windows 8 operating system – which was designed with mobile devices in mind – the new Nokia Lumia 1520 is lightning fast and will be able to handle running multiple apps in the background at all times.

• Better Battery – The battery on the old Lumia models wasn’t that bad, but the new one seems to last a bit longer. Everyone says their battery lasts longer, but with the Lumia 1520 it’s really true. As you know, the power of the battery is very important. What good is a great phone if it’s always draining the batteries quickly?

• Memory – Even though the new Nokia is a lot larger, they still went with using a  nano-SIM card slot, which is a bit odd considering they had so much room for a larger card. Still, for most people this isn’t a problem as the nano-SIM cards can hold quite a bit of data.

• Screen Resolution – If you’ve used Windows phones in the past, you know their screens weren’t that great. The new Lumia 1520 has  Full HD resolution (1080 pixels by 1920 pixels) which makes a huge difference in the quality of everything shown on the screen.  Additionally, with ClearBlack technology at play, you get really good contrast so that everything is easy to see.

As you can see from the points above, there are quite a few specific reasons the new Nokia Lumia is a good bet for a smartphone for a lot of different types of people.
