It has been more than eight months so far I joining international video site Viki since I left Yahoo! on June last year. From becoming just a consultant at the Singapore-based streaming video company, the company’s CEO appointed me as one of their execs: Director, Indonesia & Southeast Asia Business Development (BD) Lead at Viki — effectively from January 1st, 2012.
My tasks with this role, among others:
- Work with content owners (producers, filmmakers, production houses, TV stations) in Indonesia & Southeast Asia for content licensing.
- Work with media partners for content syndication and partnerships
- Work with community and other stakeholders to create awareness on Viki contents.
In short, I’m not only responsible for content development, but I also responsible for business development and marketing for this region. Exciting times! :-)
By the way, Viki Facebook Page just hit 4 million Likes –and counting! Yay!
Another good news, Viki ll soon be launching Phase I of a new and improved viki.com, which the entire company has been working incredibly hard on for months.
