Micromax Canvas 4 vs. Samsung Galaxy S4

The 720p display offers great brightness and an amazing contrast with the vibrant and punchy colours. The viewing angles of the phone are good and display is highly sensitive. It features an amazing unlocking mode, where you can blow air to the screen to unlock your device.

Design, Dimension and Weight

While the Galaxy S4 features a dimension of 136.6×69.8×7.9 mm while Micromax get a little larger and features a dimension of 144.5 x73.8x 8.9mm. Samsung has designed a lighter phone this system weighing 130gm while Micromax goes a bit heavier with 158gm of weight.


Speaking of the camera of both the phones, Samsung brings to you 13MP autofocus camera with LED flash, Dual Shot, Geo-Tagging, Face and Smile detection, image stabilization and much more. The 2MP front camera allows 1080video recording and serves great for video calling purpose.

In competition to it, Micromax has equipped Canvas 4 with a 13MP camera and 5MP front facing camera. The main camera has the capability to record 1080p videos and comes with autofocus, LED flash, Geo-Tagging, touch focus, HDR, Panorama, face and smile detection. It can detect up to 6 faces.

A unique feature included by Micromax in Canvas 4 is the four-way panorama that allows you to take pictures horizontally. The front camera renders excessive amazing video calling service and support 720p video recording


Well compacted with anExynos 5 Octa 5410 Cortex A15, clocked at 1.6GHz with graphic processor of Power VR SGX 544MP3 and a RAM of 2GB, Samsung S4 offers amazing speed to help you browse the internet and do multitasking. The built in storage offered by the device is 16GB and the memory can further be enhanced by using the microSD card slot.

Operating System

Samsung S4 runs intuitively on the Android Key Lime Pie 5.0 Operating System with TouchWiz User Interface. The version can further be upgraded while Micromax has offered Canvas with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system which can also be upgraded.


With a battery of Li-ion 2600mAh, S4 offer a standby of 370hours, music play of 62hours and a talk time of 17 hours. On the other hand, Micromax Canvas 4 comes decked with a Li-Ion 200mAh battery offering a standby of 220 hours and a talk time of 8 hours.


S4 offers some amazing internet connectivity via 2G, 3G, 4G, GPRS, EDGE, DLNA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, Bluetooth with A2DP, EDR, microUSB and Infra-Red. On the contrary, Canvas 4 supports internet connectivity via Wi-Fi Hotspot, USB, and Bluetooth v4.0, 3G, EGE, DLNA and GPRS.


S4 comes packed with some amazing features. These include an IR port for IR gesture sensor for Air gestures, 3.5mm audio jack, remote control functionality, Barometer, Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor, cancelling Active noise with dedicated mic, Organizer, YouTube, Maps, Google Search, Gmail, Document Viewer, DropBox up to 50GB storage, Smart Scroll, Smart Stay, Smart Pause and Wireless charging.

All in all, when Micromax launched the Canvas 4 in competition to the S4, it has well stuffed the phone with amazing new features. Talking about the price of both the phone, Micromax is a phone launched especially for the budgeted class people. Though, nothing can compromise with the brand value of Samsung and hence nothing can defeat the product.

The amazing features and design of the phone are highly remarkable and appreciated by the masses. The release of Canvas 4 is surely appealing the masses and attracted attention.
