Vietnam will be one of Asia’s rising star in the coming decade. Vietnamese stocks are Asia’s best performers this year, and the chief economist of the International Monetary Fund is touting the country as an “emerging China.” Microsoft chairman Bill Gates a few months ago said that over the next decade Vietnam will join the list of Asian miracles.
So far, Vietnam was really on the right track.
International investors, who have had too few stocks to choose from, may soon get alternatives in Vietnam, one of Southeast Asia nations…. Entry into the World Trade Organization this year may encourage companies to follow the lead of Intel and Ford Motor and invest in Vietnam.
Gates on April 22 2006 pointed to the “Asian miracle of great economic growth” and said “clearly I see that over the next decade Vietnam will join the list of those miracles. Gates stated, information technology, including software development, could help Vietnam move into the league of Asian “miracle” economies within a decade.
