An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the West Sumatra capital Padang at 3:22 pm Wednesday, but no damages or casualities were reported.
An official from the geophysics information center at the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said the epicenter of the quake was located 98 kilometers to the west of Padang, around the Mentawai Islands, the Jakarta Post reports. [W!]
