Blogging kills Microsoft Frontpage

John Dvorak is right: Blogging killed FrontPage. I even forgot that Frontpage existed before.

It’s become obvious that FrontPage is going to be quietly dropped from the Beast of Redmond’s regular user orientated offerings – only to be replaced by professional design tools. Blogging sites are replacing personal Web sites for the average PC user.

But former Microsoft technical evangelist Robert Scoble refused Dovrak’s opinion in his blog. Dvorak is wrong again, he said.

Cause FrontPage had a reputation for changing code, for not respecting standards, and for forcing its own style on the development team.

Only time will tell.
